Landmark School Project for FAAC
A flexible solution was required for automating the wide variety of different door
types throughout Kirkley High School. Enabling the school to be the first in
Lowestoft to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.
FAAC 961 electro-mechanical swing operators were installed on doors or lintels, and
as push or pull arm applications. Operators are set for "assisted opening" - a light
touch on the door activates the automation. Wheelchair users have FAAC's 868 MHz
two button radio transmitters to open doors. Finger protection strips have been fitted
to prevent students trapping fingers.
