FAAC moves nightclub bouncer
Sam's nightclub in Brentwood, Essex wanted to ensure nearby residents were not disturbed by sound carrying across an adjacent car park at the end of its Thursday, Friday and Saturday club nights.
The answer was an acoustic wall to bounce the sound back, but this idea was complicated by the need for access to the carpark during the daytime. The answer was automation, installing a metal gate fully clad with timber, to act as a noise buffer. It was automated using a 884 sliding operator, which using a key command slides into place into its "bouncer position". This type of operator can move gates up to 3.5 tonnes so is ideal for this application as although the gates only require moving 6 times a week the operator can take the weight of the 3m by 15m long gate.
